Scanguard Settings

How to Enable Real-Time Protection

Real-Time Protection runs in the background of your computer and scans any file that you have downloaded, used, or opened. Real-Time Protection checks for virus-like behavior and will stop any suspicious activities, notifying you and stopping any files or malicious processes that could be harmful to your computer.

As a premium user, you will have access to our Real-Time Protection feature.

It will activate after a few seconds of Scanguard being fully installed, or may require you to click Enable Real-Time Protection. See below for guidance:

Settings

Click on the ⚙️, to go to Settings.

Advanced Tab

Go to the Advanced tab.

Toggle Real-Time Protection On

Under Security, find Enable Real-Time Protection and click on the Toggle to enable the function.

To set up Real-Time Protection follow these instructions:

Open Scanguard

Open the Scanguard application on your Windows device, and click the Scanguard icon on the left-hand side.

Enable Real-Time-Protection

Click Real-Time Protection

Check if the toggle is set to Protection Enabled. Should the toggle stay red, click here for further help.

When you first install Scanguard on Mac, you will need to set up Real-Time Protection. We have made this as simple as possible. To enable Real-Time Protection follow these instructions:

Open Scanguard

  • Click Dashboard
  • Click Enable
  • Click Install
  • Open System Preferences
  • Allow Permissions

  • Click Open Security Preferences
  • Click the Lock Icon
  • Enter your Mac's Password
  • Click Unlock
  • Click Allow
  • Enable Real-Time Protection

    Go to the Scanguard Application


  • Click Next > Open System Preferences
  • Click Scanguard Real-Time Protection 5 - (you may need to scroll down to find the entry)
  • Click Complete Setup
  • If the above does not enable Real-Time Protection, please click here.

    Real-Time Protection runs in the background of your Android device and will scan any new activity on your device. You will then be notified if a file or app is harmful or malicious.

    To turn on Real-Time Protection follow our step by step instructions below:

    Open Scanguard

    Open the Scanguard application.

    Select Real-Time Protection

    Tap the Real-Time Protection Shield icon.

    Toggle On

    Tap the Enable Real-Time toggle.

    Real-Time Protection is now Enabled
